Young Families Discovery Group

OK... we're not all "young" anymore, but the group is intended for families with children who are still in school. But working that in the name didn't really roll off the tongue!

"Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and forsake not your mother's teaching, for they are a graceful garland for your head and pendants for your neck."
Proverbs 1:8-9

Who we are in this group

This Discovery Group is intended for young families to connect with each other and to allow their children to play together and get to know one another.

We meet every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month in the evenings to share a meal, get to know each other, pray together, and have a Bible study.

Right now, we are meeting at the church building as the group gets familiar, but we would like to move to having our meetings at the various homes of those in the group in the future. If you would like more information or to contact Cory directly, you can fill out the form at the bottom of this page and he will be in touch with you! For detailed calendar information, please click the button below to be taken to the Discovery Groups Calendar.

Our Current Study

From the Bible, we are studying through the book of Proverbs one chapter at a time. At the end of each meeting, we will read the next chapter for discussion. All the adults in the group are asked to meditate on this chapter over the next two weeks and select the passage that stands out to them for the group to discuss in two weeks. Please check the Discovery Groups Calendar and the individual events for this group to see what chapter will be discussed for that specific week.

These times are also open for any discussions relating to marriage or parenting and we would like any members of the group to bring any resources related to this to the group for us to discuss. And wherever these studies go, we trust God is leading the discussion.

There will be regular updates about our studies posted to this page for everyone to view!

Meal Planning

We will share a meal together in this group and would request everyone who is coming to sign up through the link below to make sure all meal items are covered. If there is something you would like to bring that you do not see, you are welcome to bring it anyways to share!

Allergens to avoid: Macadamia Nuts
Gluten-free and grain-free options are appreciated!

Our meal for July 19th will be a pulled pork meal! Todd and Rhonda will be providing the pork (Thank you!), and we ask that if you are coming, you sign up through the link below for a topping, side dish, or dessert. Please do this ASAP if you are attending so we can have a clear idea of how many we will have.

Activity Ideas

Some activities we are considering for this group are:
-having a game night (board games)
-going to a park
-going on a hike
-going to a skate park
-setting up dodge ball
-hosting a movie night
-playing laser tag in the church auditorium
-making the church auditorium a roller rink

If you have any other ideas, you can reach out to Cory and we will save them for the future to explore as an activity for an evening!
